You want to see an agenda? Note who the Sun-Sentinel sends out to review shows that have a decided gay spin to them. I agree that Brandon has talent. Unfortunately, his agenda is too prominent in his reviews. See his reviews of VAGINA MONOLOGUES or THE NEW CENTURY and get a grip on your righteous indignation- it's a long fall off of that soapbox.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6919587666858265958.post-8713840918441592392010-02-11T13:12:04.119-05:002010-02-11T13:12:04.119-05:00Hey, y'all.

I was just in Rhode Island to clear up a family matter, and Erika -- a really bright young writer who loves theater but who's never reviewed any before -- was kind enough to fill the editorial vacuum. Next week, I'll review Laffing Matterz in Broward, and the week after that I'll review Palm Beach Dramaworks or WTC in Broward and Blasted in Miami.

To the poster above who mentioned the Doll's House review, I concur with your sentiment, if not your prescription. The review went too far. Sorry about that. I'm trying to allot myself more time for review-writing before deadline so I can mull over a piece more thoroughly, pre-publication. I hope you'll find future reviews free of the excesses that plagued that one.

Grazie,
- BKT

p.s: Anonymous: I have yet to find a play that is "gay enough" for me. If you hear of one, please let me know.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6919587666858265958.post-79455749076901010382010-02-11T10:30:10.674-05:002010-02-11T10:30:10.674-05:00I don’t think that Brandon reviews shows based on ...I don’t think that Brandon reviews shows based on their GAY FACTOR. As a gay man, I must say that the insinuation above is extremely insulting. Brandon is very good at what he does and to insinuate that his being gay influences how or why he reviews a show is insulting to all gay men and woman who work hard and have integrity in their work. You may not like what he has to say or how he says it, but his sexuality has nothing to do with the work he puts his name to. Try putting your name to what you write that way you can proudly stand behind your opinions.Adalberto J.
