The Scene for December 19, 2014

The Holiday Season is underway; Chanukah (or Hanukkah) started this week, Christmas is next week,  Bodhi Day was last week, Kwanzaa is around here somewhere, as is our personal favorite, Festivus.

As we come upon the solstice, almost every religion has an observance of some sort.  And for our part, all of them are a good excuse to go see a show.

Here's what's playing on South Florida stages this weekend:

opening...

If you happen to venture down to Key West – and why shouldn’t you? – be sure to stop in to see Noises Off at The Waterfront Playhouse.  And as long as you’re there, double up and see The Last Night of Ballyhoo at The Red Barn Theatre.  Plenty of time to hit Sloppy Joe’s for drinks between shows, or after.  Or before.

The Book Of Mormon opens and closes at The Kravis Center this weekend – but if it’s not sold out yet, it soon will be.
