The Scene for September 11, 2015

Last weekend was Labor Day, this weekend is Rosh Hashanah, but plays are still gracing South Florida stages across the region.
This weekend marks the tenth anniversary of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, and they are celebrating all day Saturday with ArtsLaunch. Click through the link to see the schedule of events.
Falling between weekends next week is Double Indemnity, a live radio version of the 1944 film, being staged at Arts Garage next Thursday and Friday.

Empire Stage opens its production of Mommie Queerest, through October 4, 2015.
The South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center presents the world premiere of Tsunami, by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Nilo Cruz and Michiko Kitayama Skinner, through October 3, 2015.

Broward Stage Door Theatre presents The Fantasticks, through October 11, 2015.

MicroTheatre Miami is running three plays in English and four plays in Spanish on Thursdays.  Check it out: you can choose which plays you see, and you only pay for the ones you choose.  It's a sweet deal, and a great night out.
