The Scene for August 19, 2011

Condundrum Stages is running its On the Boards: Our Alternative Theatre Festival this weekend; it's sort of a sampler of work from some of the area's smaller - but still excellent - theatre companies.  The Drama Queen has the line-up of what promises to be several unique evenings of theatre.

If you simply have to stay home, check out tonight's episode of Burn Notice on USA Network; the featured local actor is none other than Todd Durkin, who can be seen live onstage in Six Years.

Speaking of TV, Mosaic Theatre has announced that is has landed Ray Abruzzo of The Sopranos to play in Mosaic's upcoming production of Lombardi.

In the meantime, here are this week's offerings of live theatre-

Promethean Theatre Company opens its much anticipated production of Song of the Living Dead - complete with a splatter section.
