The Scene for August 5, 2011

August?  How did it get to be August so soon?  Well, the good news is that Tropical Storm Emily is probably going to stay a tropical storm, and probably will stay far enough off shore that it will be a lovely weekend - to go to the theatre!

The Women's Theatre Project opens Ann Morrissett's Chitterling Heights. Besides featuring the talented Karen Stephens, this is the first time WTP has presented a show with men in the cast.


you still haven't missed...


Stage Door Theatre kicks off its Miami Beach series with SUDS; the Rocking 60's Musical.  It runs through September 4, 2011 at the Byron Carlyle Theater.  If the title sounds vaguely familiar, it's because they ran it last year.

See Jane Run! plays at Actors Playhouse through August 14, 2011.

The Stage Door Theatre also offers Crossing Delancey  through August 14th, 2011

The final performance for Madeline and the Gypsies at Actors' Playhouse is 2pm Saturday, August 6.

The Performance Project's Young Professionals show their stuff in Aladdin, through Saturday at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
