The Scene for November 6, 2009

Man, this year is just flying by! This first full weekend of November gives us a unique "bookend" set of plays opening this weekend; read about them in the Drama Queen. And then come back and see what's on the South Florida Theatre Scene this week.


opening:

David Mamet's adaptation of The Voysey Inheritance at the Caldwell Theatre Company, opens Sunday, November 8, and plays through Dec 13.

The Alliance Theatre Lab opens another Mamet play - Sexual Perversity in Chicago - on Thursday, November 5th, and it runs through November 22.

Actors' Workshop & Repertory Company
presents Speech & Debate at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.  Welcome back, Bob!

Reasons to be Pretty at GableStage runs through November 22.

Two Jews Walk Into A War... at Florida Stage, through Nov 29.

Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House at Palm Beach DramaWorks plays through Nov 29.

Laffing Matterz runs Thursday-Sunday at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, through June.

Actors' Playhouse presents a musical version of Alice in Wonderland, starting this Saturday, and running through Nov 13.

Showtime Dance & Performing Arts Theatre presents High School Musical 2, through November 14.
