Saturday Buzz

Just some little snippets from around the web.

Another Night Before Christmas
The Miami Examiner tweets
Back from a fun opening night at Another Night Before Christmas at Actors' Playhouse. Better for older kids. Many modern day pop references
Actors' Playhouse  tweets back:
Book your seats now for "Another Night Before Christmas"!! Shows are filling quickly! Gift Certificates available for Christmas gifts!

Stage Directions tweets on the accident at Kravis Center;

Stage Electrician killed today in 30' fall at Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Florida: http://xrl.us/bge7c8

Comments now closed on story. RT @pschley: the comments talk about how the venue is at war with the stagehands union...
I didn't see any of the comments on this particular story, but anytime a Kravis Center story appears on the Post website, the comments become heated very quickly.

Moreno No-Show
Dan Renzi was in the audience for Rita Moreno's cabaret act at the Miniaci Center.  Via Facebook:
Dan Renzi is very sad that Rita Moreno cancelled her show due to being sick--with everyone sitting in the theater! Bummer. Feel better, Rita.
Another Opening..
Via Facebook:
 Janet Dacal  OPENING....again...
Enjoy!

The comments on the Kravis Center must have been bad. They've yanked the comments section on the story.

I think they yanked the comments before they got too heated. For a time, the comments that were there were not too bad, but you could see where they were headed.

If you look at other articles dealing with the Kravis Center and their union negotiations, you always find a flame war in the comments section. Even the announcment that Florida Stage is moving to the Rinker led someone to question why union stagehands don't take drug tests. It's nasty.
