The Scene for March 8, 2013

The temperature's taking another plunge as we prepare this week's offering of plays.  But the theatre scene is turning up the heat.

Two major national tours opened this week, and that's on top of the five regional theatre companies, two world renowned sketch comedy troups, two cabarets, and a handful of children's and community theatre productions.

Whew!  The critics really have their work cut out for them this week!  And so will we, trying to keep up with all of them.

Here's what's playing on The Scene this weekend:

The long-awaited Actors' Playhouse production of In The Heights opens this weekend at The Miracle Theater.  We're betting this one is going to be sold out the last couple of weeks of its run, so get your tickets now.  Read about it in The Herald.

The Maltz Jupiter Theater is opening its production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, through March 24 - expect this one to sell out quick, too. Heck, we should just say that about every show that opens there and at Dramaworks.
