The Scene for March 1, 2013

February is gone, and it's March.  And you know what that means-

You've only got one month to prepare for The Carbonell Awards!  I've heard some people saying that they are not coming because their show (or their role) wasn't nominated.  They gripe that it's political.

And maybe it is.  But if it is, you should be showing up to glad-hand the folks at the Carbonells.  Meet them.  Impress them.  And hey, it's not all about awards; not only is this the biggest networking opportunity of the year, it's also a fundraiser for scholarships.

As Robert Heinlein wrote: "Sure the game is rigged.  But don't let that stop you: you can't win if you don't play!"

The Boca Raton Theater Guild  opens Chicago at the Willow Theater in Sugar Sands Park.  It plays through March 17.

Jerry's Girls
opens at the Broward Stage Door Theatre, through March 24.

The critically acclaimed production of A Raisin in the Sun plays at Palm Beach Dramaworks through March 3, 2013 has been extended through March 9.
