The Scene for October 9, 2009

We're coming into the second week of October; shouldn't it be getting cooler outside? Of course, we don't mind the heat on stage. And the theatre season is only beginning to simmer.

opening:

In Development
opens at New Theatre, and plays through Nov 8.

still playing:

The Marvelous Wonderettes opens Friday night at Actors' Playhouse, and plays through Nov 1.

The Glass Menagerie at Broward Stage Door Theatre plays through November 1. Bad news! Poor sales will be closing this show early, on October 17th; it's a shame, as all the feed back I've seen has been exceptionally positive.

Así es (si así os parece) -- So It Is (If You Think So) at Teatro en Miami Studio. (In Spanish with English supertitles). It plays through October 23.

passing through...

Caldwell Theatre presents a concert version of Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George, October 8 - 11. Don't miss the cornucopia of talent assembled by Clive Cholerton.

The National tour of Fiddler on the Roof makes a stop at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and plays through Oct 18.

for kids

Marionetas de la Esquina plays at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Arts on Saturday; performance in English or Spanish, see web site for details.
