The Scene for March 2, 2012

My, oh my, it's March; it only feels like June.   A lot of openings this week; a couple of touring productions, several regional productions, and of course, there's still a lot of shows that have been playing for a week or so. 

Here's what's playing around South Florida this weekend...

opening...

A Steady Rain opens at GableStage, through April 1.

Working opens at the Caldwell Theatre Company, through April 1, 2012.

The Boca Raton Theatre Guild opens Sweet Charity, through March 18.

Billy Elliot plays at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts through March 11.

Capitol Steps: Desperate Housemembers plays at Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts through March 11.

Kathleen Turner stars in High, playing this week only at the Parker Playhouse.


you still haven't missed...

Fathers and Other Strangers
plays at the African American Performing Arts Community Theatre through March 18, 2012

Palm Beach DramaWorks has extended its run of The Pitmen Painters through March 18, 2012.

Last of the Red Hot Lovers ends its run at the Broward Stage Door Theatre this Sunday, but moves to the Miami Beach Stage Door on March 9, where it will play through March 25th.

My Fair Lady also plays at the Broward Stage Door, through March 25.

If you find yourself in Key West, God Of Carnage is playing at the Red Barn Theatre.

Laffing Matterz plays the Broward Center's Abdo New River Room, for its third season of dinner and comedy.
